Catching up with Chloe

Chloe was due to meet me at Garth Hall at 9am. About 8.45 she phoned me because she was early. I suggested that she let the ducks out and I finished Skye’s walk and set off. We hadn’t seen each other for a long time so I was looking forward to seeing her. I knew we had a lot to catch up on. I reversed down and noticed she had parked on the grass. It’s quite boggy so I messaged Neil in case she was stuck and needed towing. I got the jeep and she letp e into the paddock. I parked up by Cai and she put an alpaca mix in the back while I got the alpacas food. When we came out of Cai, Neil was waiting by the gate. The talking began and didn’t finish until she left 🤣 She caught up with Neil and then moved her car while he pushed a bit. He left for Tregurnog then. Chloe drove the jeep into the wellfield and reversed into the barn. She is much taller than me so she could reach the hay and half filled the bag.

I drove down to the alpacas. I parked on the bridge. Chloe carried the bag down to the LST. I filled the bucket and we went to the boys. I tipped the rainwater out and she fed them. Next we got back in the jeep and off through the mud to the boys pod. There was less hay left than I expected so we put it all in there. If I’d realised,we could have brought a full bag and taken some to the far field. I didn’t expect the boys would need any, I was only checking 😬 I’ll have to take hay to the far field tomorrow.  Then we went to the girls field, still talking and catching up. She fed in the troughs and I fed Ffion. Then we went over to the far field. Texas Hold’em didn’t come with me today, so Chloe didn’t meet him. Lastly we fed the boys and I introduced her to Colin. She agreed he was very handsome. When I told her about me and Neil watching Hulk have his vasectomy, she gagged a little. “You’re weird enjoying that. You watched the caesarean as well didn’t you?” I think it’s great. I love being right there for that sort of thing 😁 Then I showed her photos and videos of my grandsons.

When we went back up it was time to see to the Peckys. There were only two eggs which was a surprise. We went for a walk around then because we still hadn’t finished catching up! We said our goodbyes and Chloe is hoping to come up more often on her Saturdays off. I went home and it was reasonably early. Despite all the talking, Chloe helped me with my jobs so the morning went quickly. I had some emails and messages to see to and a booking for March!!! I also put a load of washing on. I walked Skye before dinner today. She must have known it was a slightly earlier walk because she decided to go further. I got dinner on when we got back and did some VAT. After dinner I had a little sit down and ended up having a few phonecalls and messages over a potential truck. In the end, after much debate, I’ve decided to get a second opinion on the Ranger.

I went back to Garth Hall to close and there were 5 more eggs. For once the ducks were ready for bed so they went in  next and I finished by feeding Rascal.

It was nice to catch up with Chloe but we’ve got plenty more catching up to do!
