I had a cracking sleep ๐It’s so rare that I celebrated it! I got up, stripped the bed and put the clothes to wash, like every Sunday. Making breakfast involved a lot of standing on the settee and rolling my blue chair away from the sink. Great fun ๐คฆโโ๏ธ It was a bit grey outside but promised to be sunny. I went to Garth Hall and let the ducks out. They weren’t as happy as me that it wasn’t going to be raining. I fed Rascal and then walked down to “trap” Garth Vader, ready for the walk.ย
I went back up and got a pair of wellies because one of the party needed to borrow a pair. I collected them from Cai and then put them in the truck. I took an egg box up to the lane with me to remind me that I had to let the Peckys out. A minute or two after 10, a car drive slowly past so I waved which stopped them. It was indeed my visitors. The lady borrowing the wellies was an alpaca fan. She wore a t shirt with an alpaca on it and her alpaca socks. She arrived yesterday from Bahrain! News of my alpacas and farm is reaching far and wide ๐ As usual, Vader was happy to cwtch up to a woman ๐ It made her day I think. She was also desperate to pet the girls but they aren’t as keen. When we met Neil and Rascal, the lady was also delighted to meet Rascal too (Neil, not so much๐) He was changing the jeep tyres so I can use the it in wetter, winter weather. He also loaded some alpaca mix into it for me. Tomorrow I’ll be getting the ewe nuts as well so I’ll take them all down.
Back at home, it was time to tackle Sunday dinner whilst settee climbing. I must admit, it was easier making the Sunday dinner in the past than it was today. Everything was a chore. The colander is in the cupboard with the settee up against it. With a chair on top of it, it’s too heavy to move. There’s no room to move it anyway ๐ So I used the saucepan lid to strain the veg. In the end, I ate standing up in the corner by the sink. I couldn’t be arsed to move again ๐ After eating, I even washed up because I was at the sink. I walked Skye and just as we set of, Jordan rang. Riley is officially out of his cot and into a toddler bed. Mainly because he is getting his leg up on the cot side, like a ballerina at a barre! They have had to act before he falls out! Josh used to climb in Jordan’s cot,ย making her cry.ย Boys are sooooo naughty, aye. When I got back, I set about clearing the remaining things from the living room. I’d just got started when Josh rang because he was sorting some forms out. That threw the afternoon a bit. It was difficult to move things one-handed because I was on the phone. After the call, I managed to jam quite a few more things in the conservatory and even did some sweeping. I was shattered at that point so climbed Mount Settee again and made a cup of tea then did some blog so I could sit down and rest.
I messaged Neil about 5.30 to see if he was closing. He said he was heading home for his tea but had just seen a lamb he wanted to look at. I would have to go up. I left about 6 and got there at 6.15. He was in the paddock, frantically waving his arms about. “I hate these woolly noses (his name for the silvernoses) they’re a nightmare.” I ignored his mood and we got them in the airlock. I left him to it and fed the Peckys. There were two more eggs which I was pleased about. The ducks followed me from Barry, knowing it was their turn next. I fed them and shut them in. Lastly I fed Rascal but forgot to check for eggs in the barn. I opened the gate for Neil to drive his quad through and left myself. I had to climb Mount Settee but I plan my food carefully to try to cut down on the amount of trips and climbs that I need to do. Jordan updated me to say Riley was up and out of his bed continually but the exercise wore him out.
Long day. Shattered.
