I was awake but it was still dark. Luckily, I looked at my watch because it was nearly 7am π― Still raining too! Definitely a waterproofs day. Jordan wanted to borrow my fitbit so I wasted ages trying to find the “safe place” where I had left it π It took ages. Then I put it on charge. It wasn’t ready for her to pick up on her way to work. She asked to pick it up at 12pm. Normally that wouldn’t be a problem but I had a lot to do before then.
My first stop was Jenkins’s. I was there just before 9 but they were opening up. They didn’t have any ewe rolls but will have a delivery on Monday so I’ll have to pop back then. I did get some layers pellets though. Off I went to Garth Hall. When I got there I had a notification come through to say I was in the presale queue for Lewis Capaldi tickets. Last time that happened, I was at Garth Hall and I didn’t have a good enough signal. I logged into Ticket Master and at the final hurdle, the signal was too poor and I lost out. Not again mun π€¬ I’ll try again tomorrow when I’ll be at Jordan’s house.
I let the ducks out and got the Pecky food. I wondered where the ducks were and their door was stuck shut π€¦ββοΈ I got them out and went over to Barry. I tip their food into the run, though the chicken wire. The floor was very wet. Good job they eat quickly or the food wouldn’t be any good.Β There were four eggs which I put in the car. I then went to let Rascal out. The rain was coming down in sheets and there was some water in the barn. I fed Rascal and then went off in the jeep to collect the layers pellets to put into Cai and some alpaca mix to take down. Or I tried. The jeep was getting stuck in mud. Neil is going to put different tyres on it.
Once I was down and parked up, the rain seemed to ease so I decided to walk around. The jeep was struggling to get about on the boggy ground, despite 4wd. I fed in the podfield and gave Greyce a talking to about eating from the trough. She ignored me. I fed the boys and then walked to the main field. The rain had started up again, of course π I fed them and began the count. All the babies were present and correct but I was missing two adults. I counted three times. Nothing else for it but to walk over the field. It was very strange to have two missing. Something unfortunate could have happened to one,Β but not two! What was going on? π€ I spotted 2 rams and then couldn’t find Colin either. I finally spotted him sheltering under the hedge. He was ok. The rain was blowing in my face from further up the field. There were certainly no alpacas there. I was very confused. I started back over and there were two sitting by the bath. I’d passed them when I walked in as well. They hadn’t come for food so I didn’t count them π Problem solved.
Yesterday evening, I struggled to get the jeep back up the slope. My plan for today was to go a bit further over the field where the grass wasn’t so short and slick. I also made sure I had plenty of speed and therefore momentum. I got up without a hitch. Walking back to the car, the rain was once again blowing in my face. I was pretty wet. Once in the car, I left for the shops. I went to Aldi followed by the poundshop and Pets at Home. My last stop was Asda to get jeggings. The bloody order hadn’t arrived yet. It was the reason I had gone to the shops in the first place π€¦ββοΈ I rushed round like a loony and I’ll have to go back another day. I then went to Tesco, determined to be back in time for Jordan.
I was slightly early for my order but it was there. I got home and there were cars parked everywhere as usual and lots of cars coming in and out of the estate. It was still raining. I had to unload the car and then swap the vehicles around. It took ages. I was shattered. I got the kettle on, went for a wee and then Jordan came for the watch and her things from the shops. I had a sit down before I had the energy to get dinner on. After food I walked Skye and put the shopping away then composed an email to Openreach.
All was well during close and it had even stopped raining! I still rushed around though to get back before it rained again.
