I slept late. It’s the darker mornings isn’t it π¬ It was also raining so I got my waterproofs on and as I drove to Garth Hall, I decided I wouldn’t drive down in the rain, I would walk. I fed the ducks and then the Peckys. I collected 2 eggs and then fed Rascal. I checked on the pond when I walked past. Yesterday it was just baked hard mud with massive cracks in it. Today it was still baked hard mud with massive cracks in it although there was about an inch of standing rainwater on the top.
I walked down and the lambs ran away fromΒ me but thye never run away from the jeep that could hit them and hurt them π There was one bum, sticking outby th ebridge to the alpacas. The thing with sheep is, if the head is dry, they think they are dry. It was sheltering from the rain. I took a photo. I fed in the podfield and I’m pleased to report that Wilma is now eating from the trough π Unfortunately, Greyce still isn’t. I’m a bit concerned because her big sister Ffion, wasn’t good at weaning and moving onto hard food. The other issue is that poor Cloud is wasting away still feeding her. The sooner Greyce eats, the sooner she will take less milk. I’d forgotten to bring the 2 boxes of antihistamines down with me too but luckily I found some in the pod.
Next I fed the boys and then went to the girls field. I counted them and then went to look for Colin, Hulk and No-name. There was no sign of No-name. I walked nearly the whole way up the field before finally seeing him sheltering under a hedge πTo be fair, it was a sheltering sort of day. I had planned to finish filling the poo bag by filling the bucket but it was just too wet. I started heading back up and the lamb was still sheltering under the tree but this time I saw the front of his head instead of his bum π I took another photo. Just as I got to the paddock, the rain stopped. Of course. I went home and sorted out a request for a raffle prize, followed by printing and signing something to send off. I had a shower and washed my hair. When I got out, the ear tag box had arrived so I sent photos of them to Neil.
I made dinner, walked Skye and then dropped a birthday card off on my way to Tesco. I picked the shopping up and took Jordan’s to her before coming home and putting my shopping away. Neil sent a photo of the invoice form the market. It had my father’s information so I rang them and updated it all. I then wrote some alpaca adoption updates and sent them off. I sent more photos off for Sunday and went into EID Cymru to update the movement paperwork. Everything took way longer than I expected. Before I knew it, Neil messaged to say there were no eggs. Except there were. They were in the run because some idiot (that would be me) had forgotten to reopen the inner door to let them back into Barry π€¦ββοΈ
It had been a long day and I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished much at all. I left Jordan’s Cold and Flu capsules in my bag as well π€¦ββοΈ Let’s hope I get something done tomorrow
