Putter inner

We were going to start sorting the lambs at 9.30. But that’s Neil time so the other 3 of us agreed to meet at 9.15. I was going to be ready before him! And then at 8.40 he messaged to say he would be ready to start at 9 πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ Of course he did! Later he messaged again “Ear tags!” “Good shout. They’re on the table next to me too but I would have forgotten!”

Jordan brown nosed and was there by 9. Neil messaged again: “I’ve got the putter inner” ” The tagger you mean?” “No its the putter inner” I had to let it go. I made it at 9.06 precisely. They were already bringing the lambs in. I fed Elsie and then Rhi arrived. We walked down and got the lambs into the makeshift pen area. They immediately started walking back out because Neil had left the sheep flap open. Only 3 went in and they were sent back. It was shut. We started by sending the largest back through the flapπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ We had a good look and let out the really small ones. We were happy with what was left. At market the sheep can be sold in small groups or large groups. What’s important, well essential actually is that they are all the same size. If there is a smaller one in there, the buyers are slower to bid and the price is lower. Fingers crossed ours are all similarly sized even if they aren’t big.

It was time to use Neil’s ‘putter inner’. He told me, Jordan and Rhi to count them. “No point. I’ve got the tags.” There was a discussion about what would work best. He had to give in. We started with ear tag number 1723. One tag shut but the lamb mpved so that number was no good. We ended on 1746. So 25 lambs. Excellent. That amount would fit in the bottom level of the trailer. We let them out and Neil went home for breakfast while us girls fed the alpacas. Job done. Jordan went home and I went to get a chicken for dinner. I already had one at home but some silly bugger (me) forgot to get it out on Friday 😁 I put the chicken in the oven and the washing on the line. Me and Skye picked Jordan up and we went to Tregurnog. After dinner Jordan left and me and Skye went for a nice walk. I even got a relaxing bath in. Good job. It’s going to be a frantic week.
