I had a lovely sleep last night and didn’t want to get up but I also knew the only cool time what be early morning. I had a quick shower and took Skye out for a walk. It was pleasant in the shade but already hot in the sun. I had breakfast and left with Elsie’s bottle. Josh went to Tregurnog with Skye.
Elsie had the whole bottle and I went down for the mule to do water. Garth Vader and his gang were under the gazebo in the shade and El Cap had managed to sit under the shade of it in the corner of his feeding pen too. I’m sure they appreciated it. I topped everyone’s water up but didn’t feed because there was a visit at 2. I finished quite early so I went home to finish emptying the car after the show. Then I sent out a number of emails about lamb boxes. I had an early lunch and then back into the sweltering heat.
I met a lovely family and they had a nice relaxing and mindful time. For some reason the view and alpacas are relaxing. Arwen was in a cwtchy mood today. She seems to know when it would be appreciated. She is the perfect therapy alpaca. Elsie also got herself another feed! Then it was back home to cool off for a bit, check emails, write the blog and do some paperwork in the worst of the heat.
We delivered two lots of burgers in the Coedely area and did the water run at 7pm. We filled the blue barrel, the two IBCs and the sheep’s bath using the pump directly from the well. It’s amazing, the water is icy. By the time we had put water out, looked over the wethers and rams, and discussed tupping time, it was cool! It was heavenly. I didn’t have me tea until about 9.30. Early start tomorrow when it’s cooler.
Helen x
