Blackmill Sheep Sale

Well I certainly slept last night! Once I was up I had a quick breakfast and began emptying the hire truck. It was full. In his wisdom, Josh decided we were leaving to feed Elsie by 10 and then onto Blackmill. A reasonable request but there was a lot to do! Everything from the show that we collected from Garth Hall and Tregurnog had to be taken out and packed into my house. Nightmare. It was already warm too. Finally we were off. Elsie was pleased to see us and drank almost all the bottle.

We turned to go over the bridge into the sales area and there were a handful of vehicles. Its normally jam-packed. We parked up and had a look through the pens. We saw a few people we knew and chatted for a while. Then we managed to scrounge enough change together between us for bacon baps and tea each. When we turned back there were more vehicles and people. This was the second show of the sales season. We were just there to check prices. It still looks as though we will still be selling lamb boxes. I’ve sent some messages out but if you read the blog and you’re interested in a lamb box, drop me a message via Garth Hall or directly.

Josh dropped me at home. I put dinner on and started hoovering and washing the truck. Josh went to Tregurnog. After dinner I went to visit Jordan on her day off. I also saw my granddog of course 😁 We were chatting away, when I got a message to say Tex was out. Josh noticed him when he arrived with the gazebo. I was going to meet him to put it up as shade for the little boys. As I was dashing off, Josh rang to say that the gate tie had undone and Tex was only down by the livestock trailer. When he saw Josh he ambled (neither of those two rush, let’s be honest) back towards the others and went back in. By the time I got there, there was a new rope on the gate!

We did the gazebo first and then water and food. After the visit to Blackmill we chatted about reorganising the pen and wall garden. The walls are falling down so we’re thinking of taking them down and putting up fencing instead. Before we start, we need to plan carefully so we make the right changes and improvements. The pen set up at the sale is the sort of thing we were thinking we could do. Lots of planning to do.
