Return of the truck

I was at Garth Hall fairly early. No duck eggs or hens eggs. For that matter, Rascal didn’t lay one either 🤣 I fed the alpacas and had to put 2 containers of water in for the girls. I then fed the podfield and Kylie didn’t come to bother Fion until she had almost finished. Ffion even spat her away once. Unfortunately Kylie didn’t take a blind bit of notice which didn’t shock me. I went back to check for eggs. There was nothing in one and a hen on the other.

I went home with a mission in mind. I’m having the living room floor sanded and resealed later this month and I’ve got a large unit which needs emptying. It’s a daunting task. I gave myself the job of taking the china things and carefully putting them in the spare room. It took way longer than expected so I didn’t manage to empty/move anything additional. Skye came back and forth with me every time too so she’ll be shattered as well. After dinner, I walked her to the garage because the truck was finally ready after it’s MOT and welding. There was no fuel in it, it was running on empty. I remember that decision now. There was no point filling it to sit in the garage so I dropped Skye off and went to Texaco. I’m having trouble with my reward card so I rang up about that. “Ah, your phone is incompatible!” I explained in the shop because I had to have a receipt for it. They hadn’t heard that before. I hope it works. They are so helpful. I gave them both Garth Hall business cards

At Garth Hall, I drove in with the truck. I collected empty water containers and drove to the wellfield. I drove in and filled them in there, where it was easier. Neil fixed a tap (ages ago) that Emma got to one of them. Although it runs slowly, I could leave it running while I filled other ones. They have to be held at a certain angle to fill them so it’s time consuming. I loaded them onto the truck, turned around and drive down. When Neil goes in the girls field, he drives in. They are disinterested in him. They follow my every move and come and meet me. That means I cannot drive in. As much as they like me, the food giver 🙄 the thought of escaping is more exciting. So I also have to carry those bloody water containers too. They added a surprisingly good amount to the bath so they’re OK until the morning, when it’ll need filling properly.

Job done, I left for home and a cuppa and some crumpets with chocolate spread. Emma messaged and we had a chat while the tea was brewing. I had a quote from a local landscaper to redo my back garden. After that I walked Skye then went to Garth Hall to close. The rams were back and an assessment of them lead to them having some hard food. They need to put some weight on before their 3 weeks ( a year) of work. That meant rejigging some things so they can eat. It dawned on me that the Peckys would eat it all so the rams will be fed once they are are shut in Barry. I put the ducks and Peckys away and then fed Rascal. Done for the day.

Neil suggested putting the big blue barrel in the back of the truck so that I can fill it at the IBCs in the barn and then fill the alpaca water when necessary. We’ve got to get that in there as soon as we can. I’m glad that the truck is back 😁
