Dump runs

I was having a lovely lie in. It was dark and I was fast asleep. My father woke me up, loudly conversing with the cats. I looked at my fitbit. 7am. Bugger. I tried to go back off but there was no chance. The cats woke Skye up then as well. 🤦‍♀️ I took her for a quick walk and went straight to Garth Hall. It was light enough to let the chickens and ducks out. When I came out of Smilog, Coedely was hidden behind mist. As I drove up the lane I came out of it. As I’ve been doing lately, I looked on the lamp post at the top of the drive. This morning I was rewarded with a yellow sign. I went over, took a photo and sent it to a few people. It’s the consultation information for the Garth Hall planning application 👏 I tried to reverse down the drive but the sun was seriously in my eyes. It was a beautiful sunrise so I took a photo. I let the ducks out first but shockingly they were quiet. I must have woken them up (I know that feeling) I gave them some water and noticed the blue tank was empty. I took it with me to feed Rascal. I half filled it but it was getting heavy so I left it in the wall garden. I let the Peckys out but it was a bit early for them too and no one had laid yet 🤦‍♀️ I locked up and went home for breakfast.

I was expecting Jordan, Louis and Riley around 10am. They ended coming a lot later. I had Riley while they broke up the two old settees so that we could get them out of the house and into the truck to go to the dump. Let’s just say it was very difficult all round and leave it at that. I’m aching and so tired it’s hard to remember what went on. By the time they had finished, they had to dash back home. I then had to get a broken up, two seater settee and a broken up four seater settee in the back of the truck and off to the dump. WOW, that was hard. I did my father dinner and fed Riley somewhere in between but only had time for a packet of salt and vinegar crisps (cheese and onion are a no go because of the onion 🤦‍♀️) and a Yorkie bar.

I left the 3rd and final load until about 4.45 so I could feed the alpacas and put everyone away. I got to the dump and there was a queue. The bloke told me to queue in the road rather than in the lane to turn. As I was manoeuvring to do that, the bloke in the car behind me, jumped the queue. “Arsehole.” I said it so loud he probably heard me. “I hope you fall in a skip!” When we went in, he stopped at ground level but I had to go up the ramp so I bypassed him anyway. There I was carrying all my big heavy bits of settee and one bloke offered to help another bloke with a chair! Do I look like I’m going to be on World’s Strongest Man over Christmas or what?

At Garth Hall, the Peckys were hanging round by the gate to meet me. I collected the 3 eggs and put them away. The ducks were sleeping and the sun was rapidly descending. I went to give them water and noticed the blue tank was not where I had left it. Fair play, Neil had filled it 👏 and brought it over for me. Rascal appeared but I had to feed the alpacas. He followed me all the way down, meowing and getting under my feet. I fed the boys quickly but I could still hear him complaining from somewhere nearby. I couldn’t see him but he wouldn’t cross the bridge last time so I assumed he was behind the wall. The girls were in the far field. I opened the gate, a few heads looked up and they all started running. Cleo arrived at a full canter. By the time I’d got to the 2nd trough the stampede hit me. I thought they were going to mow me down! When I neared the bridge again I heard Rascal. He’s loud at the best of times but it really echoes around the dry stone wall. He hadn’t crossed the bridge but was complaining his tea was late. He got under my feet so much walking up that I lost my temper, long tiring day after all. He ran alongside me after that which was just perfect.

The ducks went to bed fairly easily because the sun had set. The Peckys always go in for their food. Everyone was fed and shut in. It was time for me to go home and have my second meal of the day. I had a jacket potato with ham, cheese and beans. I was starving and I ate too fast so now I have wind. I’m burping loads. I’m an excellent burper and really LOUD! 🤣

Clocks going back or not, it’s an early night for me. I’m exhausted 😴
