Dismal day

I’d gone to bed early so I woke at 6. I didn’t get straight up. I hoped the sleep had done me good. Now I’m up, I’m less optimistic. There was rain due about 9.30 according to the weather app. I fed Rascal and checked the alpacas. The drizzle started on the way back. Not too bad though. I let the Peckys out and collected 4 eggs. I went to Tesco, on the hunt for a replacement microwave. My phone went off. It was an email from the bloke at Wowcher. Again. About 2 mins later there was a message from Josh asking if I’d seen the email. I rang him for a chat while I was looking for a microwave. He emailed the bloke  back and suggested Asda Living. Off I went to Asda and found a microwave I’m happy with. The truck was low on fuel and Neil wanted it ready to sort out for market tomorrow. So my next stop after Asda was Sainsbury for fuel. I turned off the main road and everything before realising I couldn’t put diesel in the truck while I was driving my car! It did make me laugh though 😂

Back at the house, the road resurfacing was causing way more chaos. Thankfully its supposed to be finished tomorrow. I got on with dinner and then an email to the solicitor. That caused arguments between me and my father over how serious the complaint should be. It’s been sent now. I had a rush around after dinner and finally made it to Sainsbury to get diesel for the truck 😁 I rushed so much that I was early. I had my tablet with me so that I could start the blog. It was raining fairly heavily so I put my wellies and coat on before opening the gate. I shooed the wethers away and drove in. I shut the gate and then did some blog. I nipped out for a quick wee but something told me my visitors would be early. I had an inkling. I got back in the truck and just kept looking up to the gate. It didn’t take long before I saw a car. I headed to the gate and opened up to let them in.

When they arrived, the rain stopped. I was happy with that. It was interesting to talk to them because they have been on an alpaca trek before. I like to find out how other people entertain their visitors. After the walk, we went to the barn to look for the egg. It’s been by the open bale but there were a lot more bales in the barn. The hen that’s been laying there actually laid around the corner a bit from her usual place which amused me. I wanted to check Barry and Feral Beryl was on the nest. I went over closer to see if she had finished and she launched at me in attack mode! One second she was sitting and the next she was at me. Feral is the right term for her. I made a hasty exit while my legs were intact and said goodbye to my visitors. Neil gave me the rest of the afternoon off. That was lucky, I had lots of kitchen sorting to do and the new microwave to set up. It took me hours but I haven’t cleaned in a while 😬 No time!

As I was typing the blog, my father was watching Wales Today in the living room. It’s so loud, I can hear every word in the kitchen, despite the fact I’ve got the telly on while I’m typing! Anyway, there were sheep dog trials on. Everytime there was a whistle from the living room, Skye shot up, went bonkers and started barking. I asked him to mute the telly because of the whistling. He hadn’t even heard it. Probably too high pitched to hear at his age 🤦‍♀️

I went back to Garth Hall to close up. It was like Chicken Run watching the Peckys run up the drive to meet the truck. But once I got out, the fun was over. Bloody Feral Beryl started an attack, she was merciless. She’s lucky she lays those blue eggs I can tell you! It will be alright in the winter I suppose when I’m no longer in shorts but for the time being, the battle lines are drawn. And she’s in the lead 🤦‍♀️
