Calm before the storm

I’d been awake for a while. I’d been working at home in the afternoon so not done enough I suppose. The fitbit calorie burn and step count suggested I’d done plenty. Anyway, restless night and awake early. I turned the phone on. Message on the chat. It was a photo of Neil’s negative covid test. Woohoo! He would be about later I suppose. We went to the truck which was all steamed up because of the clear night. We had a little wait while it demisted. Then we were off. Skye had fun with the wether again and then I fed Rascal and the chickens. I headed home for a shower and got dressed. I’d made the most of the good weather and there was a load of washing waiting to go on the line. I had to do that before I left. I had a quick breakfast then went to check on the rams. Would there be any brown bums?

The answer was Yes! I saw one from quite away away. She had a lot on her. When I got closer I realised it was Sian. Oh that was good. Sian had to have a caesarian in April because her lamb had died. Fingers crossed she will get a lamb in 2023. That was the only extra one so far. It was time to head up to meet my visitors. I went and waited in the layby. After a few moments a car came slowly down the lane. The passenger window was opened. They asked for directions to Garth Hall. They had found me. They also all had wellies to change into. Wellies are now a necessity if you don’t want wet and muddy feet. We had a lovely time. Even the swing was a hit. They also left me a review which is always appreciated.

Home for dinner. It was after food that I started to feel tired. I’d probably eaten too much (not a shock) so I decided to goto Garth Hall earlier than usual. A good walk around in the fresh air would wake me up. I even intended to go for a walk down to the bottom fields again. That would wake me up and then a bit of mucking out in the silver star container. Well that was the plan. So of course it went tits up! I started my walk. I only just managed to walk around. I was getting more and more tired until I could barely keep myself upright. Not good. Time to give in and go home. I drove carefully and then and to rest again before I could walk Skye. It was paracetamol and pyjamas time. I cwtched up on the chair with Skye before an early night.

I think it was side effects from the flu jab. I’ve never reacted to it before but I don’t know what else it could have been.
