Unmotivated

Not a great deal planned for the morning. No walks booked and I’m struggling to focus and motivate myself. I went to Garth Hall and found 1 very large duck egg. I decided to leave the duck shed open in case the Peckys or ducks decide to lay there. I fed Rascal and then let the Peckys out. There were 3 eggs. I decided to be quick and go home and print the “alpacas for sale” poster out that Jordan has designed. Then I could try and get them up in some local shops. Off I went to do the alpacas so I could do just that.

I got down there and emptied the Camelibra dregs into a bucket before emptying the new bag in. Then, I put the food I needed in the relevant buckets and fed the boys. The podfield girls ventured out and I fed Kylie and Cupcake quickly so I could feed Ffion. She had one tablet left when Kylie appeared so I had to climb over again. Neil is going to have to do some remedial work in on that fence. The contractor that did it was bloody rubbish, it’s hanging off the posts. Not helped by me climbing it daily, granted 😂 I fed the girls next and was happily walking up the field when naughty Arwen took advantage of me and stuffed her head in the bucket to sneak food. She had a row but didn’t seem at all bothered 😂 Once the girls were fed, I went on a quest to find Dwynwen’s son. I found him but when I tried filming, adults kept walking in my way. I got the chance to grab him and also get some close ups. I left then and went for an early dinner because I had to have Riley at 1pm.

He slept until gone 2pm then had meatballs and pasta. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He was stuffing food in with his hands and with a fork! I offered him yoghurt after and he said “Oh” gleefully. He fed himself most of that. He played happily until just before Jordan came home and then he became really upset. We’ve no idea what was wrong, bless him. He’s alright now. I left and got to the farm a bit late. Neil had just put the rams in the trailer to take to Tregurnog for the vet visit. ” You’ve done the water already have you?” The blank look followed by the “Bugger!” told me what I needed to know. He said he would do it when he came back from Tregurnog. I collected eggs and he set off with the rams. Then he stopped and I checked the light board to make sure everything was working.

I went home and had my tea quite early, not knowing what time he would be back from Tregurnog. His friend was there cutting wood so I imagined there would be lots of talking after the work 😁 I started the blog after tea and remembered the radio weather forecast – rain for tomorrow. I rang Neil to suggest doing the water tomorrow because there was a chance there would be enough water in the brook to refill the IBCs. He told me we had already discussed that 🤔I didn’t remember that. Anyway I said “That’s OK, I can close when I’m ready now, if I’m not waiting for you.” About 5 minutes later, he rang me. “You can close when you like now, I don’t need to come back up if I’m doing the water tomorrow.” UH? We just had that discussion 😂 Both as bad as each other! I checked my photos had posted on Garth Hall after that and realised I’d made a mistake. I had two names in mind for the last boy and I’d put the wrong name 🤦‍♀️I’ve edited it now but it’s a shame because I’ve revealed a potential future name choice.

I went back to close after I had walked Skye. They all came to  meet me. I tripped over Peckys all the way to Cai to get their food. They know that I’m going to squeeze in and not allow them inside. Once I had the bucket, I tripped over them all the way back to Barry. The ducks followed in case there was more food tipped out on the ground. They were fed next. No extra eggs in their shed either. Once they were in I tried to tackle and extremely long nettle that has stretched from deep in the run but is threatening to block the lock to their shed. I folded loads of it over but the root was a few feet away under the low part of the run. My upper arm was brushed by a nearby nettle 🤬 I had to satisfy my nettle genocide thirst with breaking the end off it. Not satisfying at all but at least it’s out of the way of the door. I fed Rascal and rechecked the nests. No more eggs. I finished up by satisfyingly pulling up a nettle from near the main gate padlock. That would be safer in the morning too!

I haven’t printed the For Sale poster, jn fact I’ve done the bare minimum because I’m just so bloody unmotivated 🤦‍♀️ Rain is forecast tomorrow and I’m supposed to have a walk. Weds need it to fill the IBCs though…
