Raining

Rain was forecast some were all convinced that Alexa would unpack. I had a lovely sleep so at least I felt good, until I saw the clouds. Hardly ‘flaming June’ is it? 🤦‍♀️ I got to Garth Hall and I was freezing in the wind. I put my waterproofs and wellies in as an extra layer to warm me up! After feeding Rascal I released the Peckys. With waterproof trousers and wellies on, I was capable of following them through stungies so I waited. This time they did not dash off. I lurked and eventually some of them headed in the general direction they had gone yesterday. I went through all  the stingies and no nests. I gave up and headed towards the barn area on my way to the alpacas.

Rhianydd joined me, carrying her coat. She had walked up the lane so she was boiling. We made a right pair. We fed the boys but shut McQueen and Vader in their feeding pen. Over in the girls field, they were all there, including Alexa, waiting for food. There was no,sign of her unpacking at that point. We left them to it and Rhi harnessed up Vader while I caught McQueen. McQueen is sooo soft. He feels gorgeous. Its such a shame but at the moment, he doesn’t like being touched. I’ll have to try to get him used to getting petted. I also need to work on teaching him to walk. He didn’t want to do that either 😂 I thought he’d want to follow Vader but I was wrong. Never mind, we’ll keep it up.

We went back up the top then because I had someone coming to do a bat survey. We waited around and then had a chat to him when he arrived. He explained a fair bit about the process and we left him to it. Back jn the girls field, we set up the two chairs and watched the girls. The vast majority of them sat around staring back at us 😂 Then there was a bit of an alpaca orgy. Livia and some of the black girls, began mock mating each other. It was fairly off putting if I’m honest. The other girls weren’t keen either and they walked off. With them all over the other side of the field and no signs from Alexa, we left. The tain started on our way up. It wasn’t too bad at that point but I jnew I’d have to go back up later. I popped to Aldi and the rain got worse.

As I was cooking dinner, I started to develop a headache. After dinner I had 2 paracetamol and put my waterproofs back on and went back to see what was happening. I was convinced she would unpack in  ad weather. When I got back, Alexa was still there, showing no evidence of unpacking so that was good news. My headache had lessened enough for me to go to check Tregurnog. It was easier for me than going back to Garth Hall later. The rain was heavier. My phone rang as I drove along the lane towards Tregurnog. I pulled in and sorted out a 75th birthday surprise for later in the summer. We will have the 4×4 vehicle on standby just in case it’s needed. Its great to have a warning that it may be needed because I organise myself to accommodate the possibility. I checked the hogget at Tregurnog and also the topping that Neil had done. I was stuck traffic in the way back. I took Skye out for a walk once I got back and then took the waterproofs off. It was cold so I put warm pyjamas on and did a pile of VAT. I’ve even had to explain to a few people that they can’t have any eggs this week 🤦‍♀️Those hens are skating on thin ice! Neil reported that there was no sign of unpacking so I’ll be back on cria watch again tomorrow.

It can’t stay in there forever. It will have to come out. Eventually😁
