Fuel

I’d had a rough night with hip pain. I’d convinced myself I would need a new hip overnight, but a quick search on Dr Google suggested otherwise so I’ve no idea. I’m probably just fat 🤦‍♀️ I got to Garth Hall and fed Rascal before getting all the chickens out. I got the blue hens out too and shut the door for them to get used to their bigger home. I also shut the wellfield gate because Neil wanted the silvernoses in so he could clean their bums. I went down to the alpacas then and saw one of the best sights.

As I’ve mentioned on numerous occasions, Tex likes to sunbathe. Well, today he took the award for best sunbathing pose ever. I took a photo. It will appear on Garth Hall towards the end of the month. I also shared it on Alpaca Chat on Facebook. Still chuckling to myself, I fed the weanlings and then the boys. Who was first at the feed buckets? Tex! I have no idea how he got from lying stretched out on his back to the feed shelter so quickly. I fed the girls and Possum was standing near the top of the trough so I had a good look at her udder. It looks saggy and empty 🤦‍♀️ I tried looking at Ebony’s udder again, but it’s just so dark under there. Her belly is big but I think she’d just a big girl. While I was looking at Ebony. Alexa was standing in such a position and her cria was lying funny so it was sticking out of the side! I’ve taken a short video and that will also be posted near the end of the month.

I drove the quadling and trailer out. There was still no sign of the fuel tank so I got the two small ones from Cai so I could fill them. I had a nurse appointment so I filled the fuel tanks and went to get my blood pressure tested. It was all good so I went home. I was expecting to get on with dinner early because I had to do something with Jordan and Riley. Then my auntie rang again. We were on the phone a while. When I came off the phone there was a message from the Alpaca Chat admin, asking permission to use the photo of Tex! That was nice. I got dinner on and simultaneously typed up an email for my father. I ate dinner quickly and got myself changed. I had to remember a parcel that I had of Jordan’s and the Garth Hall laptop. I only nipped for a wee but of course I forgot both of them 😂 The last thing I had to do before we came back was pick up 2 stroke oil for the quadling. What ignorant, rude and unhelpful men the two of them were. I’ll have to find somewhere else to buy the 2 stroke in future.

I got changed and went back up. The first chicken I saw was Feral Beryl, half way along the drive. Probably just laid her egg 🤦‍♀️I had a good look but there was no sign. I took the two tanks and the oil but decided it was too much to carry. I left one tank and the oil in the barn, hoping Neil would take them down later. I put the tank in the red trailer and drove to the field. I filled the poover and set off picking poo. I got about an hour and a quarter of poovering. The clouds were getting grey though and I had stuff to do at home so I left. It was lucky I left when I did as the rain started when I got to the barn. Neil was still cutting clinkers off. The silvernoses are so woolly that their tails get lots of poo on them. If they were ready he would shear them but they aren’t quite ready so he was clipping poo and wool from back ends and tails. “Hold this!” I couldn’t refuse. They are my pet sheep. Tail holding is nowhere near as minging as clipping poo off. I did leave him to do the last two because I wanted to work on the medicine book. I had another really good poke around looking for Feral Beryl’s blue egg. The first thing I found was the bloody fuel tank. I took a photo and sent it to Neil. At least I’d found it 😂 Then I got stung by stingy nettles through my jeans. A sign yo give up so I went home.

After my shower and food, Neil messaged to say he ahd taken the petrol and oil to the LST. Then there was a further message to say “Look for weedkiller for all the Buttercups. There’s not enough grass left!” So then I had to do that as well. No time for the medicine book now. That will have to be another day. There was a surprise when I got back though. Another cheque from the incompetents at HMRC. That went straight in the bank!
