Neil fed Rascal and let the chickens out because I had to get to Jordan’s early. He made sure the blue hens went out too but he was too early for them to have laid. Jordan needed to be in Newport for an appointment so I went along to have Riley. I had a great time with him, strolling around the shops. He laughed and played with the toys in his pram and then fell asleep. I went to a nearby Greggs for a cup of tea. I had a long chat on the phone with my auntie and then Riley got restless. With about 10 minutes left to meet Jordan, he started crying. I cwtched him and rocked him off to sleep. When he finally went to sleep I sat back down because he’s quite a chunk 😁 When she appeared, her heard her voice and screamed! We had dinner out and then I went home to get ready for the farm.
What a change from the last week. I’ve been in shorts, T shirt and trainers. Not today. Jeans (which are a lovely black after I re-dyed them) and a long sleeved top. Then, my wellies and waterproof trousers. The weather was awful. My first stop was Barry. All the chickens were in so I decided to put them to bed. They wouldn’t go back out in the rain. I refilled all their water and then collected 6 eggs from the tyre. I tried around the tyre rim as I found eggs there before. No sign. I tried the second tyre too. Number 7 would be around the farm somewhere. Bloody marvellous 🤦♀️ I reached into the food sack and there was a blue egg in there. Beryl laid it yesterday and Neil collected it when he put them to bed last night. I still had 7 eggs but I should have had ten. I went to the barn and fed Rascal. Then off to the alpacas.
They were all fairly miserable and sheltered in the best sheltering places. They were really pleased to see me and all ate eagerly. Let’s hope it dries up and warms up soon because they are probably chilly after being sheared. Neil messaged to say he couldn’t do anything at Garth Hall in the rain so we going to Tregurnog. I had a message at about 6.30 to say he hadn’t been because he had fallen asleep. Old people and their naps 😂
I’m having my hair done tomorrow so I’ll go to Garth Hall beforehand to fed everyone and let the chickens out. The blog will probably be a short one tomorrow too.
